RINGATÓ

I am a singing teacher and choir conductor and have been working since 1979. During this time I have worked with many age groups, from nursery-age children to college students. I have had the opportunity to gain experience in the music education of children of different ages and in adult training as well.

Today, early childhood music education is at the centre of my work, and I pursue it with genuine love and conviction.

I am proud that I received guidance from Katalin Forrai, a pupil of Zoltán Kodály and an internationally renowned music educator, in the training of kindergarten teachers and the music education of preschool children. For more than twenty years I had the privilege of being close to Kati, learning from her and working with her.

I began working with families with young children in Szekszárd in 1991. I started Ringató sessions in Budapest in 2004. Soon afterwards I organised courses and gathered students and colleagues around me so that more and more of us could provide children and adults alike with a musical experience week after week, guided by the same values.

Ringató has grown into a movement that sometimes amazes even me. I work with wonderful colleagues. They are outstanding people, excellent musicians and educators who represent the Ringató programme at a high professional level. I now lead sessions only rarely myself, but I direct the community of session leaders, operate the Ringató network and teach.
